What is Spiritual Formation?

Spiritual Formation is simply the process by which Christ is formed in the life of a believer. Whether we know it or not each one of us is in the process of spiritual formation. Every thought we think, every choice we make, every action we take, every emotion we express, every response to the circumstances around us, every relationship we have or don't have, every thing - all things - large or small are shaping us into some kind of spiritual being. We are becoming either more the image of Christ or a horribly destructive caricature of that image. Still we have choices about whether or not we cooperate with God's healing and liberating grace. We can sign on for the transformational journey or ignore it and make our own path.

To intentionally commit yourself to the continual process of growth and union with Christ is a life shaping thing. By making space for God in our lives through practices, relationships and experiences we grow in love -- incarnating the presence of Christ in our world. Christ Church is eager to offer each of its members’ opportunities to make space in their lives for God.
