SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual direction is a relationship that allows one Christian to assist another in discerning God’s activity and presence in their life. This relationship assumes that we all need help to listen to God and live out His call. In the busyness of every day life we can become blind and deaf to the River of Life that flows in and around us all. Through spiritual direction you begin to be more conscious of the Holy Spirit’s movements and God’s specific work in the hum-drum routines or struggles and trials of life. A spiritual director listens with one ear to God and the other ear to the directee, always encouraging the directee to recognize where God can be found throughout the journey. At its core spiritual direction attends to the faithfulness and initiative of God. The TRUE director of your time together is the Holy Spirit. The rhythm of monthly spiritual direction can help you cooperate with the Holy Spirit's shaping and reshaping work within you. This spiritual practice is one way the Spirit conforms you into the image of Christ for the sake of others.
