Forrest Zander serves as the Regional Director of Development for Wycliffe Bible Translators. In his role, he speaks, recruits people considering global partners as a career, and raises funds for Bible translation. He also works with translators who are translating the Bible for groups who have immigrated to the US. This seems unlikely but, in fact, is actually occurring. A number of displaced people who formerly lived in rural or jungle areas have moved to cities, some in other countries, and continue to speak languages into which the Bible has never been translated. One translation project, close to home, is carried on in Detroit among some 60,000 - 80,000 Chaldean speaking people from the Middle East. Another is in Chicago among some 60,000 Assyrian-speaking people. Forrest assists the partner translators who work among these people and in many cities around the world. Forrest and Margaret have three adult children (Anna Marie, Arlene Mae, and Albert) and four grandchildren. |
