Barbosa and Sinara de Oliveira are part of a team of missionaries in five countries in Southern Africa. Barbosa focuses most of his attention on various religious leaders throughout Mozambique, having just recently relocated his family there. He encourages, trains, assists, and mobilizes national pastors and leaders through conferences, publishing, and providing resources. He concentrates on leadership development of local pastors and the study of the Scriptures. The people whom Barbosa works with are very poor with a simple means of subsistence. The majority earns less than $45 per month. They are largely evangelical Christians with an interest in growing their faith. Barbosa and Sinara have one son-Rafael.
