Charles Colson founded Prison Fellowship in 1976 after serving prison time for a Watergate-related offense. During his time in prison, Mr. Colson became convinced of the need for a ministry devoted to sharing the Gospel with men and women in prison. Working in the U.S. and around the world, Prison Fellowship is a volunteer-reliant organization, that spreads the Gospel to prisoners and their families through counseling, pen pal programs, seminars, Bible studies and the Prison Fellowship newspaper, Inside Journal, which reaches 1 of every 3 inmates. PF seeks to exhort, assist and equip the church in its ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, victims and their families, in the advancement of Biblical standards of justice. Through Project Angel Tree, volunteers in over 14,000 churches across the U.S., provide gifts at Christmas to children whose parents are in prison.
Prison Fellowship is looking for caring Christians to coorespond with prison inmates. Please call or write to PMF at the address listed above, or visit their Web site at: www.pfm.org
Chuck Colson will be at Christ Church of Oak Brook, April 13, 2005. Contact CCOB for more information! 630.654.1882
