    The Nehemiah Ministry

Equipping and encouraging mature believers to discover & respond to God’s unique call on their lives

Have you ever wondered what God’s purpose for your life is? Are you aware of the unique gifts and abilities God has woven into your life and how they relate to your calling? Do you desire to be more purposeful about identifying areas for growth in your life for growth and developing a prayerful plan for action?

If you are seeking answers to these questions, the Nehemiah Ministry may be for you!

The Nehemiah Ministry will help you cultivate your relationship with Christ and deepen your understanding of God’s specific and unique call in your life. Participation in the program requires a level of spiritual maturity and Biblical understanding that will allow for active and informed participation in the group’s weekly sessions.

    – Foundations

We believe that the Lord has uniquely equipped you “for such a time as this” and that He has distinct action plans for each of us. In the Nehemiah Program you and a small group of other mature believers will engage in a 9-month journey during which you will trace the finger of God in your life, discerning His past work and how He’s preparing you for what’s next.

    The Journey

The program begins by focusing on experiencing God in our workplaces and understanding our roles as His stewards in this world. You will then engage on an introspective analysis of how God has uniquely gifted you and how He has been active in your life, using various “turning points” to bring you to where you are right now. Next, you’ll reflect on the different facets of your life – relationships, roles and responsibilities – and begin a prayerful and deliberate discernment process. The program concludes with the preparation of your own life ministry plan, a highly reflective and uniquely tailored set of goals and objectives for each area of your life that includes the tangible steps necessary for helping you remain in active pursuit of your calling within each role. During this amazing journey, you will have a special opportunity to bond with the other members of your Nehemiah class and make important, Christ-centered friendships.

    Short-Term Destinations

Upon the successful completion of the Nehemiah Program, you will be “commissioned” in front of the congregation as a symbol of your commitment to live into God’s call for your life. Nehemiah graduates typically go on from this program to involvement in other areas of servanthood and leadership within the church community and/or other faith-based organizations.

    – The Nehemiah Sermon Series

So why all the interest in Nehemiah? With very few exceptions, no biblical figure displayed a greater sensitivity to the Lord’s calling on his life. Nehemiah is a study in biblical leadership and a living, breathing example of Micah 6:8 in practice:

“He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God." (NIV)

The following sermons on the book of Nehemiah were delivers by Rev. Daniel Meyer and Dr. Greg Ogden in 2005. We hope you enjoy them – you’re sure to develop a deeper appreciation for this inspiring Old Testament man of God!
