This vocal group is a non-denominational men's chorus of some 35 voices whose members represent all walks of life and church backgrounds. Mostly residents of Chicago's western suburbs, The Singing Men come from such diverse career paths as corporate officers, retirees, self-employed businessmen, professionals and craftsmen who share their love of music and Christian ministry.

The group first gathered in 1985 and for over a decade have delighted and inspired audiences in churches, retirement homes, schools and benefits across Chicagoland. TheSinging Men have performed at venues as disparate as the Executives' Breakfast Club of Oak Brook and the Cook County Jail. They are a regular chorus at Christ Church of Oak Brook and perform three Sunday mornings every year. For the benefit of International Aid, the men have sung with other men's choruses at a annual concert in Holland, Michigan. Crowds at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, have been roused by The Singing Men's traditional rendition of The Star Spangled Banner. An annual Christmas concert and a Spring concert in May are the highlights of the calendar.
The Choir is directed by Wendell Borrink and accompanied by his wife, Vivian Pearson Borrink. Their musical careers span four decades and include a wide background of professional solo, choral and instrumental experience in church music. The Singing Men's repertoire includes both sacred and secular songs ranging from classical to spiritual to traditional and gospel hymns.
Men of good voice and musicianship are welcome to audition. Rehearsals are every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. from September through mid-May at Christ Church of Oak Brook.
