When I'm facing a challenging situation in my life - and we all do at various times - what resources for care are available at Christ Church? Who can I contact?
- Suggestion # 1: If you have some Christian friends, if you're part of a small group let them know as soon as possible. Be willing to receive their care.
- Suggestion # 2 : If you're part of an adult discipleship community (a mid-size group) with a care team, call your particular pastor or someone on the care team. If you don't know who that is or how to reach them, ask the next time your group is together.
- Suggestion # 3: If you're not sure who to call or what might be helpful, please call the Prayer & Care Ministry (630) 654-3227. Rev. Rick Glyman or his ministry assistant, Lorri Winter will be pleased to help you find a path forward. They can connect you with a group of caring Christians who live near you or a specific support group that meets here at the church; or you might benefit from meeting with a Christian counselor in the community we could refer you to; a Stephen Minister "A Caring Christian Friend" could meet with you once a week for awhile; a trained Spiritual Director could help you zero in on understanding and developing your relationship with God during a difficult season of your life. There is help and hope available.
- Suggestion # 4: If you're planning on or are already hospitalized, please let Lorri Winter know at (630) 654-3227. Lorri will arrange for a Visitation Pastor to visit and pray with you should you desire.
- Suggestion # 5: Prayer Ministers available to pray for you and your loved one whatever the circumstances may be. Our Prayer Ministers can be found in the Acorn Room next to the Sanctuary following the 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30 services. Consider attending the Communion or Healing Prayer services. Our Vespers Service of Prayer & Communion is at 6:00 p.m. every week in the Sanctuary. The Healing Prayer & Communion Service at 11:30 a.m. on the 3rd Sunday of each month in the Fireside Room.
