Sandy Towers

Children's Ministry DirectorSandy began working at Christ Church of Oak Brook as Assistant Director of Children's Ministry in January 2007. In March of 2008, Sandy stepped into the role of Director after the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Vickie Bare. Our children's programs thrive on a committed team of adult and student volunteers. Instruction and modeling of Jesus' love is our highest priority!

Sandy has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign. She taught first grade full time, serves as a substibute teach for grades K- 5th grade and also has experience teaching pre-school and Pre-K as well.

Prior to coming to CCOB, Sandy had just begun furthering her education in order to get back into teaching. Sandy has always loved being around youth and sharing her faith. She has served as a Young Life leader, Bible Study Fellowship leader as well as many Sunday School teaching positions. So it seemed natural for Sandy to consider the opportunity God had provided in becoming Assistant Director of Children's Ministry in January, 2007. Sandy loves her new position and considers herself an "event planner for Jesus!"

Sandy grew up in Clarendon Hills, IL and has lived in Western Springs with her husband, John, for 23 years. She has been a member of CCOB since 1983. They are blessed with three children, Courtney, Katie and Jack. Sandy loves being with family and friends anywhere and anytime! She loves to travel and soak up God's beautiful creation. She keeps fit by cross country skiing, swimming, running and walking.
