What is ParentZone?

ParentZone is a gathering for the whole family. We gather once a month all together for fellowship while we enjoy appetizers and desserts brought by our participants. Children and parents then break out into separate groups. Children stay in the Discovery Center for a simple Bible lesson, craft and fun. Parents move to the Fireside Room and together we strive to acquire tools and ideas to help us disciple our own children in a way that is honoring to God.

What is happening this winter and spring?

We will be watching a DVD series called “Raising Rock-Solid Kids in a Pleasure Driven World” by Kevin Leman. He is an internationally- know psychologist, award winning author of 30 books, radio and television personality and speaker. The DVD study is designed to encourage parents to build healthy relationships with their children and at the same time help them understand that they are not alone in the challenges they face. Parents will find practical, biblically sound guidance on a variety of topics that they deal with every day.

What Time and Where?

We will start this new DVD series on January 8^th, 2010. The following months, we will meet the 2^nd Friday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Discovery Center at Christ Church of Oak Brook. Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for some meaningful fellowship and parenting wisdom.

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring either an appetizer or a dessert that is ready to serve and share with our other families.
