Home - Prayer Shawl Ministry
Circles of Prayer & Creativity
Are you interested in knitting or crocheting a prayer shawl or sewing a prayer blanket to be given to someone experiencing a special joy or a difficult challenge in life?
You can make prayer shawls whenever you choose in your schedule and (as you're able) gather with others in a Circle of Prayer and Creativity to knit, crochet, or sew together. As you make a prayer shawl you are encouraged to pray for all who are facing difficultities and specifically for the person (known or unknown) who will receive your prayer shawl.
The prayer shawls/prayer blankets are given as a visual and tangible expression and reminder of the love of God and the love of his people. Those who received the prayer shawls are invited to wrap themselves in God's Love during times of prayer and Bible reading, during times of joy and celebration and during times of pain and discernment when perhaps they are even unable to pray themselves.
A daytime Circle of Prayer and Creativity meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Room.
If you or your small group would like to start a Circle of Prayer and Creativity at another time or if you'd like to help in other ways, contact the Prayer & Care ministry at 630-654-3227.
"I pray that Christ will make his home in your heart through faith. I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, so that you, together with all God's people, may have the power to understand how broad and long, how high and deep, is Christ's love."
Ephesians 3:17-18 Good News Translation
