What is the role of the Board of Trustees?
The purpose of the Board of Trustees is to ensure that a vision for the Church is in place and that the operations of the Church properly support the vision. Thus, the Board is charged with leadership of the strategic planning, financial management, business administration, facilities, media, legal and personnel functions that help undergird the church’s overall ministry.
How is the work of the Trustees organized?
The Board serves as a full partner to the Senior Pastor, managing the business affairs of the church so that the Senior Pastor may focus his primary attention on the development of the core ministries through which the Church fulfills its mission. The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Board for achievement of objectives and receives performance reviews annually from the Board.
Sub-Committees of the Board, led by Trustee chairpersons but often including non-Trustee members, are utilized to manage key business functions within the church. This structure provides Christian leaders with strong gifts and experience in business administration the opportunity to assist in managing the corporate affairs of the church.
Current sub-committee include:

How are Trustees identified and appointed?
New Trustees are nominated by the existing Board, which welcomes recommendations from the church’s Board of Elders and general membership. Trustees are elected by the Congregation for five-year, renewable terms of office at the church’s annual business meeting in February. Trustee candidates usually have a well-established record of spiritual maturity and a strong record in business, law, or large organizational leadership.
Who are the current Trustees?
Contact information for the Trustees is available in the Christ Church Directory or by contacting Deb Reha (
